Oh I hit you in the soft spot didn't I? Let's face the facts: There are only three type of monks: Boon prot, Boon heal and bonder. And their 8 vs 8 variations. No reason to be "special" and "try something new" and "out of the box". What's best is best, simple as that.

Prot Spirit is NOT the most important boon prot skill ever. RoF is. I don't use it and have very few problems at all. It's more of an energy hog than anything else...

You'd think that the most important Boon Prot skill would be the Boon itself

Protective Spirit? Very useful, but not a mandatory skill. Sure stops spikes well though!

..or slows it down..

In PvE I mean... If it wasn't for that skill I couldn't have beaten the bosses that do 350 damage Marauder's Shots. It also takes the sting off of Afflicted explosion.

Most of the mentioned monk rants are in PvE.
